Packed with "many great extras" like shuttle service, cooked-to-order breakfast, "free two-hour happy hour", "plenty of parking" and a 24-hour pool, this "attractive" atrium-style hotel with "spectacular interior landscaping" is "within walking distance of the Marin Convention Center" and close to a mall; those less excited about the inside say it's "fine" if you're "over 65 or have five kids", but for "single males" it offers only "isolation and no possibility of entertainment" – and no free WiFi, either.

Location is convenient to a location I visit frequently.

Paying extra for wireless Internet at the prices charged for rooms seems ridiculous.

Good location, great service, friendly staff, clean room. Wireless is a pay as you go service - which is annoying considering the average price of the room.

Beautiful interior spaces.

Save the world rain forest coffee and reduced use of linens but huge rooms using vast resources.

This is a new hotel so there is nothing immediately around it. However, it is well set back from the highway and a mall is on the other side. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly especially patient when serving the free evening drinks. The rooms and facilities at the hotel were superb.

Location is somewhat isolated.

I have stayed at this location twice and found the experience to be excellent. These were courtesy of Priceline and I hope to have a similar experience in the future.

Location was convenient, friendly staff, and very good breakfast.

Surfaces in room (bathroom counter, nightstands, etc.) were not wiped down after previous guest stayed in the room.

The Embassy Suites San Rafael was located very close to the freeway, but not close enough to be noisy. Staff was friendly and helpful and we breakfast was delicious! The lighting in the room is terrible - it looks like a prison. I think the energy saver bulbs they use have a blue or cool tone that makes creates a very dull, cool light. Second, as we were brushing our teeth, we noticed that the counter in the bathroom had not been wiped down. We found caked on soap near the faucet and water rings all over. We wet a hand towel and wiped it down ourselves and these things came right off. It was evident that the maid didn't bother to do it at all. Last, there was a wet spot in the carpet in the corner of the room. It must have happened shortly before we arrived (which was late at night) because by the next day it was dry. The Embassy Suites is a great hotel--with spacious suite rooms, and good and friendly service. The hotel food was decent, but the menu selection seemed limited. Overall, a very nice place to stay.
